Cabernet Sauvignon, Dry Creek Valley, Scharf Family Vineyard
Our Cabernet Sauvignon is our thoroughbred. Through impeccable breeding and proper training this vineyard produces consistent winners. Dark and intense, with firmly structured currant, blackberry and spicy flavors that provide backbone and depth. Chocolate smokiness—this is a strickly Dark Horse term—gives an immediate description of the finish.
Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley, Treborce Vineyard
Description: Does eat oats and goats eat oats but the Dark Horse eats the competition. Let the little lambs eat whatever they want. Our Zinfandel was in the winner’s circle and our 2006 is crossing to the lead for this vintage. Rich in jammy black cherry, intense wild berry, smoke and licorice. It has cinnamon and clove aromas followed by both white and cracked black pepper.
Zinfandel, Russian River Valley
Description: Coming down from a steep hillside Vineyard, this Zinfandel rides along the palette with a tangy cherry and wild berry streak. Without breaking stride it pushes through with sage and underbrush notes. Bright acidity and soft tannins make this a beautiful wine to enjoy with anything on the grill.
Gunfighter, Sonoma County Red Table Wine
Description: The Gunfighter is wanted for being disgustingly inexpensive for such quality. It’s a crime that he could blend Zinfandel, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon into such an awesome wine.
